It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and after that the right-hander was underway.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this World Cup need to hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
